		<description>I may be the only one...but I won&#039;t even apply for a job that I don&#039;t think I&#039;m qualified for.  And thats pretty much any job where they want a bunch of experience with some ultra-specific obscure software that I could learn in less than a week.</description>

People also fail to grasp parallels and how easy it is for a good programmer to learn something new. Take for example someone with lots of ability in Java, C, and Python. How hard will it be for them to pick up Ruby from a cold start?

And if they are great at all three of Java, C, and Python, then they&#039;ll probably be better at Ruby than someone who has &quot;6 years experience with Rails&quot; exclusively.</description>
